Ukraine's power facilities have faced escalating attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in power cuts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were hurt while residents in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and faced disruption to drinking water, per reports from city officials.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, according to area administrators.

Russian forces has increased attacks on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while the country's government has demanded "substantial measures" from partner nations to exert influence on Moscow.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen missiles targeted energy facilities, describing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were striving to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.
